* 7/29/09 11:10pm Day 25: More Company Visits *

Oh man, I almost forgot to blog today. Last night I stayed up until 3am doing my project, so I am tired today. We had a tutorial session over lunch today, while we ate hot pot. I don’t really remember what it was about…everyone was tired and Dan was speaking fast because we only had about 30 minutes. Then, we visited Microsoft and Pericom Technology (a semiconductor manufacturer). Microsoft was really interesting…the person that talked to us was born in India, but worked all over the world like in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia, and more. So he talked to us mostly about the differences of culture and business customs that he’s learned from his experience. His talk would’ve benefited me a lot if I plan to become an international businesswoman, but I don’t think I will. Still good stuff to know though. And it was interesting from a psychological perspective, because each culture has its own customs and it’s interesting to know the differences in mentality and ways of thinking. After that we went to Pericom, which was kinda more boring…the guy spoke to us all about the semiconductor business and making wafers and circuits and stuff. I didn’t understand any of it, but it would’ve been really relevant if I plan to become an engineer. I think my dad and Wesley would’ve really liked that visit. He also took us around the facilities, and let us see the machines and laboratories where they manufacture and test the stuff. Anyways, after that, we got back to the hotel at around 7:30pm. So, me, Joanna and the moms went out for a quick dinner, and then we came back so Joanna, Nikki, and I could work on our project. And that’s what we’ve been doing up until now, and probably will continue to do until tomorrow morning. We have to present our projects in class tomorrow, so tonight is going to be a looonnggg night.
